Good morning,
Offshore, this weekend was pretty decent for the month of August. We fished on Saturday and had plenty of live bait action. For about an hour you would have thought it was December the sailfish action was so hot! There were some nice kings on the reef in the twenty to twenty-five pound range and some dolphin scattered in. The cobia fishing was great on the beach Saturday and Sunday. Kadri Benton caught three nice ones yesterday, the largest in the mid fifties. I didn’t hear any swordfish reports from the weekend but it has been pretty consistent.
Inshore, those who fished early did well. The snook in the inlet and Taylor Creek areas have been firing off. White Yo-Zuri crystal minnows and D.O.A. Terror Eyes have been the go to baits. Redfishing has been o.k. starting around the St. Lucie/Indian River County line and to the North. Some nice limits of mangrove snapper have been caught on rock piles and channel edges mostly on live pinfish, pilchard, or shrimp.
Have a great week!
