Good Morning, Hope everyone is planning a great 4Th. of July weekend. The weather is reportedly going to be good and the fishing should be decent as well. Offshore, reports from the weekend showed us that there has been plenty of bait to go around. Sardines and Threadfins can be found at the buoys and blue runners along the beach. The charter boat Last Mango with Capt. Tris Colket at the helm reported they caught a limit of AJ’s, a 14# Dolphin some Kingfish and 2 Cobia 41#-25#. We heard from the Ft. Pierce based boat Huzzy, with John Jetson and Capt. Brian on board and fishing in the Bahama’s,have been catching Yellowfin Tuna up to 80# 18 miles south of Freeport just about everyday. Plenty of Kingfish are around our waters with a few Dolphin on the bar.
Inshore, last night produced some good Snook and Redfish action at Ft. Pierce’s south jetty on live shrimp and the DOA Baitbuster. Speaking of Cobia yesterday one angler told me he caught a Cobia in the lagoon on an artificial last week near the old fort site. He said that 2 fish came up to the boat and they managed to hook one. That makes the 4Th. Cobia I have heard of, caught in the lagoon in the last couple of weeks.
We have added a rack of $ale rods in the store at very good prices. Be sure to stop in and have a look.
Have a great day, Donald.
