Good morning,
Well the sailfishing was pretty good yesterday but it did slow from the weekend. Yesterday was the first day of the Stuart Light Tackle Sailfish Tournament. The Hotty Toddy was in First with 6 sails, followed by the Hattitude with 5, and the Vintage in Third with 4. Hopefully they will have good fishing the next two days to wrap up the tournament.
Inshore fishing has been consistent. There have been more and more pompano showing their faces up our way. This is the first week I have heard of a decent surf bite, and there are quite a few in the river. Redfish are still on the prowl and the best bite has been in shallow water mid-day. The best bite of the week on the flats has been the trout bite. There are plenty of schooly (legal) trout on all of the flats in our area, and some hefty ones being caught in deeper water. I have not heard much about flounder this week but I expect we should have good flounder fishing for another month.
Have a great day!
