Good morning,
SATURDAY
SOUTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 10 KNOTS BECOMING WEST 5 KNOTS
IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 3 TO 4 FEET. A LIGHT CHOP ON THE
INTRACOASTAL WATERS. SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
It looks like Saturday is the day for those of you in search of sailfish. It is supposed to get jacked back up on Sunday due to a weak front coming through. The fishing offshore has been good for those who have made it out. There are some sails to our North and they have been biting. There have also been some decent dolphin around and still some blackfin tunas. Get out tomorrow and give it a shot. We have some really pretty small ballyhoos we just got in and some more coming today.
I haven’t heard much from inside the last day or so. I think the wind has kept most at home. If I had to guess we are getting into that transition period when the mullet run begins to slow and water temperatures slowly drop. Look for fish to start gradually sliding off into troughs and deeper cuts as the air temp cools at night. We should start seeing some pompano on the flats any day now and with any luck they will get thicker as cool weather sets in.
Have a great weekend!
