Good morning,
The fishing has still remained consistent with our full summer weather patterns we are in. We swordfished the other night and had a few slashed baits but no hook ups. Ben Horton released one fish next to us and also had a few slashed squids. There was plenty of bait around but it just didn’t come together for us that night. The live bait fishing has been good both close in and out to 150′. There is plenty of action on the reef with kings, bonitas, sails, and a few dolphin. The bottom fishing seems to be getting better as well. It seems the water has warmed back up in most spots and we have heard reports of nice mangroves, some genuines, and some decent grouper being captured.
The inshore fishing seems the same. Get out early because it will shut down around 9:00 once the sun gets boiling. There have been some nice snook caught on the west side of the river around deeper docks to the North of the bridges. These are great areas to fish once the sun gets up and the fish start looking for deeper cooler water. We have done really well this time of year around dock shadows and holes.
Have a great day!
