Good morning,
I hope everyone enjoyed the nice weekend. On the other-side some people I spoke with caught some nice yellowfins. I didn’t hear of any monsters but there were some caught in the low 60’s and quite a few in the 30-40 pound range. It sounds like there were plenty of nice blackfins to go around and a few dolphin still lingering. It’s getting later in the season so it would probably be better to fish naked ballyhoo and lighter and longer leaders. It also helps if you can get a couple of baits down deeper either on a planer or a trolling lead. Closer to home there was a good kingfish bite on South Beach Saturday but I heard it slowed down yesterday. I didn’t see a whole bunch of bait in the surf this morning although there are plenty of tarpon. Hopefully they will stay around for a few more weeks.
The inshore fishing has been good early in the morning and just before dark. Two of my friends fished yesterday afternoon (one to the north around Vero and one in Ft. Pierce) and both reported catching redfish and seeing some more. There were also some nice snook released on the flats on both live baits and artificials.
Have a great day and good luck!
