Geoff and I have been out of town at a PSE archery seminar for a few days but here is what we gathered for a report on the way home. It sounds like the bait on the beach has been hit or miss. When we left it was covered up, but it sounds like it is one day at a time now. There were a LOT of kingfish caught on the beach this weekend despite of less bait. It sounds like most fish were from 10-25 pounds on average. The hot bite this weekend was the yellowfin fishing on the other side. Several boats had nice fish and a couple had 8-10 fish all in the medium to fat range. There were also plenty of blackfins mixed in and some super sized dolphins.
Inshore has still been pretty good. From what I could gather there are still some decent schools of upper sized slot redfish in the vicinity. Gulp shrimp in 3" or 4" have been working well. If the fish are finicky throw it in front of the school and barely move it and often they will pick it up. There are plenty of out of season snook to be caught and released in the river and in the inlet.
Have a great day!
