Good morning,
Well it looks like we are finally getting into a summer weather pattern with calmer winds, warm water, and afternoon thunder-storms. It looks like decent conditions for a few days so get your tuna gear ready and go burn some gas. This weekend we found pretty decent fishing. We live bait fished both days and found plenty of action. There was an abundance of bait on the beach which made for an easy trip. There are plenty of kingfish from 70-140′ and dolphin scattered in the same area. We tried to do a little bit of bottom fishing in the deep stuff and caught a few big a.j.’s and lost one LARGE grouper. Other than that is seemed pretty slow. We didn’t mark much on the bottom out deep although we did on the reef but couldn’t get a bite inside. We also saw a sail each day but got refused. The Last Mango had a nice dolphin in the mid forties on Saturday and I heard someone else yesterday that broke one off around fifty pounds.
Inshore, snook season has come to an end for a few months. It seems that we had a good season even with the difficult slot limits. There have been some stud sized trout caught the last few days both on artificial and live baits close to the inlet. I am waiting on the results from the Treasure Coast Flats Circuit Tournament on Saturday. I will post them as soon as I get them.
Have a great day!
