Good morning,
Well I heard yesterday was pretty decent offshore (as far as fishing goes). It is plenty sporty outside but there are good numbers of sizable dolphin close offshore. The fish have been from right outside of the offshore bar to 180′. There are a few resident sailfish around making appearances when you least expect it. There is and SKA tournament out of Jensen this weekend with a lot of our guys fishing up this way, as well as the Hibiscus Tournament out of here today so we should have a great idea of how the fishing is this afternoon.
On the inshore front, there are still PLENTY of redfish on the flats. I think they will start cooperating a bit better now that the North has come out of the wind. The whopper size snook are still up in the shallows. They seem to bite top-water plugs early in the a.m. and then lay up in super skinny water. A few guys I talked to were able to catch a few on pilchards during the daylight hours.
It looks like the latter part of the weekend and the start of next week should be pretty pleasant, and for those of you tuna chasers Monday is the day.
Have a nice weekend!
