Good Morning,
Fishing was spectacular in Ft. Pierce yesterday. Anglers in the ocean had great dolphin fishing mixed with a few sailfish and kings. There were plenty of large dolphin caught, many of which were over 30#. The concentration of fish were in 70-120 feet from as far south to as far north as you care to fish. Top bait – Ballyhoo!
Some yellowfin tunas were caught yesterday as well. The Blue Runner fished near the 28 degree north line about 90nm offshore. They caught 8 yellowfins from 20-60 pounds and 8 dolphins from the mid teens to 30#. They said the birds were spread out over a bunch of grass and the yellowfins were in small concentration in the area.
The fishing in the river may have been a little slower yesterday from the reports I heard, but schools of redfish and big loner snook are still being seen on the flats north of the inlet. Some friends of mine are fishing south in the river today, so I hope to have a good report on Monday from them.
Have a great weekend,
Geoff
