Hey Everyone,
I apologize for not having a report. We had a major phone line cut downtown and just got everything up and running. The Last Mango had a good day out front yesterday. They reported a good catch of dolphin, with some sizable ones in the mix. I think the biggest was in the thirty pound range. We fished on Sunday and didn’t have that great of luck. We went through plenty of bonitas and kingfish but nothing too great. We did have a couple of sails wreck our teasers but couldn’t feed them a hook. This time of year seems to be day by day offshore. It just proves that you have to try to know if they are there or not, everyday is a different day!
Inshore fishing has still been great. There have been a lot of redfish caught in the inlet vicinity, along the docks around Indian River Drive, and on the Round Island and Moorings flats. I think they are here to stay for the Spring. The snook fishing is still about as good as it gets. They are receptive to top-water plugs during the day and live bait and feathers at night. Almost everyone that comes in has had great luck snook fishing since the weekend.
It looks like another windy week. Welcome to Spring!
Have a great day,
-Scott
