Good morning,
Fishing was very good in the ocean yesterday. Several boats fished and did well. Moon Crossman on the Twenty caught 10 dolphins, a 30# wahoo, and a sailfish. The Floridian caught 6 or 8 dolphin up twenty pounds. All the action was on trolled ballyhoo. Moon added a pink Abacoa lure to his ballyhoo to capture their wahoo. The best of the action was on the 43280 line, which is just south of the inlet, in 150′-200′.
The inshore fishing has been exceptional. Snook, redfish, and trout have been very abundant on the flats. From down south near Jensen Beach to the flats just south of Vero Beach, snook have been attaching topwater plugs. Plugs like a Skitter Walk, She Dog, and the Super Spook have produced the best results. Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad’s are working well on the redfish and trout. They have been found in the real shallow water on the bottom of the outgoing tide.
Good Luck,
Geoff
