Hello all,
I am a little jealous today. The river looked like a sheet of glass this morning. Hopefully some of you make it out to capitalize on the day. It looks like the next few days will be fish-able offshore, although by Wednesday it it supposed to blow out of the north (AGAIN) and get sloppy. We were hoping to run across this week and give the tunas a try but I don’t think the weather will permit. Speaking of permit, there should be a few of our silver friends showing up on the beach before long. Basically we have a lot to look forward to in the next month or so but in reality weather is going to hold us back for a little longer. You might as well spend a couple of days re-spooling, crimping, sharpening, cleaning, and getting ready for spring fishing.
Inshore has still been great. The water got pretty dirty the last couple of days but it should clean up pretty quick today since the wind dropped out. The snook guys have been having great nights at the jetty, North and South Bridge, and the turning basin and T-Dock areas. There are some very sizable snook on the flats close to the inlet as well, and they are starting to eat top water plugs. There are decent numbers of redfish moving into our area and plenty of nice trout to be caught. Get out there and enjoy the day!
Have a nice weekend!
