Good Morning,
Not much to report on the offshore front. I didn't hear much yesterday and judging by the flags this morning not too many people are probably out today. Last we heard there are still plenty of dolphin in the 130-220' stuff and an abundance of kings to the North just shy of Bethel on the reef. There was a lot of bait on the beach the other day including pilcahrds, threadfins, and runners. We are going to run across Friday and give the wahoos one last shot for the winter so I will report back on that in a day or so.
I went fishing inshore yesterday with Sam Crutchfield and Chip Shaffer with pompano being the target species. One pompano was finally captured and probably a little over 2000 ladyfish were released. Not great pompano fishing but some great stories were told between the two. There was a lot of silver mullet on the flats and the water looked good. There have been some BIG snook caught the last few nights. As you know it is difficult to catch one in the new slot but it's always fun to catch the big guys.
Have a great day. Below is a picture of a gag Brandon Langel brought by the other day to weigh (34# gutted on a butterfly jig).
