Good morning,
Fishing was a little slower yesterday. The results for day 3 in the Stuart Light Tackle Club’s Tournament totaled 38 fish for 11 boats fishing. The sails were scattered from the power plant to Bethal from the offshore bar to 180′. I talk to one tournament boat who told me the dolphin fishing was pretty good in the area he was fishing. They had caught several large gaffer size fish. There hasn’t been much talk about the wahoo , but they should make another showing before the year is up.
I haven’t talk to anybody who fished the river yesterday, so I can’t report much. I can say the bait is thick in the river. Both north and south of the inlet I’m hearing of lots of finger mullet and big pigfish, which are great snook bait!
The bluefin tuna fishing was slow again yesterday for Scott, but maybe they’re fighting one right now as I type this report.
Have a great Friday!
Geoff
