With colder temps heading here for the weekend there’s some hope for cleaner, clearer water to come with it. The west winds will likely calm and clean up the surf. Expect the Pompano bite to pick up and get rolling, as well as Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. The colder temps will likely push more of the Snook into the Indian River, though they may be a bit lethargic until it warms back up a bit. Seatrout numbers have been good along shorelines and spoil islands, and that should get even better. The Sheepshead bite continues to be good along the bridges on shrimp and fiddler crabs. The seas should calm, making it easier to get offshore, and the colder temps will likely bring on more Sailfish activity. There’s Still decent Snook activity in the inlets despite closed season, as well as some Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. Have a safe and Happy New Year!
