Surf activity has been up and down with the conditions, calmer days have yielded good numbers of Pompano of late, as well as Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. Sand fleas and Fish Bites are the best bet for the Pompano, while a spoon still works as well as anything for the rest. Nearshore, the Spanish Mackerel have been thick from a half mile to a mile out. Inshore, there’s still solid numbers of Seatrout around, and some large Snook, both around docks and in the shallows. Redfish numbers still aren’t great, but on the bright side a good number of smaller fish have shown up lately. Offshore was good before the wind picked up, and with the wind expected to drop after the weekend, it’s time to prepare for the Sailfish, Blackfin Tuna, and the occasional Wahoo that were present before the wind picked up. The inlets have been producing Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, and Snook season opens back up next week. Good luck out there.
