Merry Christmas everyone, hopefully you have a great holiday with family and loved ones. Spanish Mackerel have been plentiful near shore, taking spoons and jigs readily. Bluefish have also been active along the surf, taking everything from topwater plugs to jigs and spoons. Pompano fishing remains a bit slow here, with more activity to the north around Melbourne. Hopefully the coming cold weather will push some down our way. Offshore, the Sailfish bite has slowed a bit, but the impending cold will likely jump start that soon. Sebastian Inlet has been yielding some nice Redfish, and Fort Pierce Inlet has produced a fair number of Pompano and Flounder from the south jetty. Inshore, Seatrout have been on the flats regularly, though the clear water has made them tricky. Snook are also on the flats, but the colder weather coming may send them deeper, and Redfish can be found on the shorelines and flats, taking soft plastics, flies, and live shrimp. Sheepshead fishing has been exceptional, with everything from live shrimp to jigs to flies being productive. Good luck out there, and enjoy the holidays.
