Good afternoon,
The offshore trolling has been slow with the exception of Sailfish being caught on live Pilchards, but the bottom fishing has been great. Many reports of big Mangroves and Muttons scattered along the reefs from 60-100ft. A fair bit deeper there have been a bunch of big Amber Jacks caught along with a bunch of big genuine Reds. The grouper bite has also been great, Sardines have been the go to bait and we just got a delivery of 5lb boxes at the Stuart shop.
Inshore the Snook bite has still been on fire, Live Pilchards have been the go to bait and they haven’t been hard to find. The hole in the wall has been the spot to catch numbers of Snook but the bigger Snook have been hanging in the docks on the north side of the Stuart Inlet. There have still been a good number of Pompano around as these cool fronts have kept them around.
Weather:
Synopsis: A moderate southeast breeze this afternoon will veer southwest through tonight ahead of a cold front, which will sag through central Florida Saturday. North winds behind the front will become onshore by early Saturday evening. Widespread showers, embedded thunderstorms, and deteriorating boating conditions will overspread the local waters Sunday and Sunday night as a weak low pressure wave over the Gulf of Mexico crosses south Florida. Behind this wave a moderate northeast breeze Monday will veer to east on Tuesday, which will keep boating conditions less than favorable.
