Good Morning,
It looks like we’re in for a windy weekend with some rain. Offshore reports from the past few days have been great. Many big Mahi have been caught with most fish being in the 20-30lb range but a few have been upwards of 50-60lb. Most boats have reported catching these fish in 175ft of water. Mono rigged Ballyhoo with a Pink/White or Blue/White sea witch has been the go to bait. The Cobia fishing has also been great in the mornings when the sea has been flat. Bull Shark barge has been the go to spot it seems but there were a few customers who have reported seeing them on Rays off the beach. It looks like this warmer weather already has the summer time patterns in full swing.
The inshore fishing hasn’t been too bad either. Snook, Redfish, and Trout fishing on the flats in Ft Pierce and Vero has been phenomenal, Pilchards will always get the bite but these fish haven’t been too shy eating soft plastic swimbaits and topwater plugs as well. The dock light fishing in Stuart has been great, most Snook have been just under slot but we’ve heard of a couple 28-29″ keepers hitting the ice.
Weather:
A stationary front over south Florida will lift north through central Florida by tonight, then meander north and south over the local Atlantic through Monday, before finally pushing south of the waters Monday night. A fresh easterly breeze and a combination of wind chop and swell will keep hazardous boating conditions in place through today. Winds and seas will gradually subside tonight into this weekend as the flow shifts to the south and southwest.
