Chico Fernandez became a pioneer in the South Florida fly fishing scene after his arrival from Cuba in 1959. He caught the first White Marlin on fly in the US and landed a world record Redfish weighing 42lbs 5oz on 12lb test. He developed quintessential fly patterns such as the Bonefish Special, Seaducer, and Glass Minnow. Fernandez has also consulted for companies such as Sage, Nautilus, Hell’s Bay Boatworks, and Costa.
