Good morning everyone. Fishing in the IRL seems to be picking back up after a slow period following the last full moon. Snook have been more active around docks and even on the flats, being caught on everything from soft plastics and twitch baits to flies such as Polar Fibre Minnows and EP baitfish. Seatrout numbers have held steady, along the drop-offs and flats, taking live shrimp, soft plastics, and flies like Clouser Minnows. There has also been pretty good numbers of Pompano caught in the river, mostly on goofy jigs, in places like the Wabasso causeway and around the inlets. Redfish numbers are still so-so, but those putting in the time are still finding and catching some. In the surf, it’s mostly been slow on the Pompano front due to a lack of clean water, but there have been some Jack Crevalle and Bluefish to keep you busy. Offshore has been pretty tough, and the rough conditions of the next few days will make it tough to go. Hopefully the cooler temps that come will spark some better fishing. Good luck out there!
