The recent calmer weather has made it possible to get offshore, and people have been catching Dolphin in 110′ of water, some Kingfish in 80-90′ of water, and snapper fishing in 60′ of water has been pretty good. The surf has turned on, with calmer conditions joined with plenty of mullet migrating south, Tarpon, Snook, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, and Spanish Mackerel have all been making appearances, as well as some Spinner Sharks. Hogy Paddle Tails, DOA Baitbusters, and the new Yo-Zuri larger twitchbaits have all been effective. Pompano are also showing up, with sand fleas and clams your best bet. The inlets have been producing some Snook, but the abundance of bait is making artificials a bit tough right now, and there have been some Tarpon on outgoing at the mouth of Fort Pierce Inlet of late. In the Indian River, higher water levels have made sight fishing pretty tough, but banging the shorelines has produced fair numbers of Snook and baby Tarpon. So get out there and enjoy the nicer conditions.
