Good Afternoon,
The Mahi have started to show up this week, many boats have been catching nice gaffers but they’ve had to run a good ways to get them. Most reports we’ve heard have been from 800-1100ft out of Stuart on live bait. Sailfish have still been in close, from 100-200ft. There have been a few Wahoo caught out of Stuart this week and it should only get better, we have a full moon coming up on the 16th but next months full moon should be the ticket on getting a consistent Wahoo bite. There have still been quite a few Cobia around out of Stuart with Kingfish mixed in.
Snook fishing has still been great with many overslot fish being caught at the inlet. The Beach fishing has slowed up a bit, not due to a lack of fish, but the amount of seaweed on the beach has been thick. We’ll have to wait for a few good days of a west wind to push it off the beach. There have still been some smaller Tarpon in the South Fork. If you’re throwing fly small muddlers and gurglers will work the best, on spin gear DOA Terror Eyez have been the ticket.
Southerly flow around periphery of western Atlantic high pressure will bring showers and storms into the marine area for the weekend. Winds and seas will remain mostly favorable for small craft through the weekend. Offshore moving showers and storms will occur late in the weekend through much of next week bringing locally higher winds and seas near storms.
.GULF STREAM HAZARDS…None.
