Fishing in the Indian River continues to provide plenty of activity, with plenty of juvenile Snook populating docks, shorelines, and outflows, taking soft plastics, plugs, and flies regularly. Larger Snook are a bit harder to come by these days, but there are still good numbers of Redfish and baby Tarpon around to work with. The surf has been a bit inconsistent, but when you find bait, the fish have been around, including Snook, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, and Tarpon. The most frequent bait found has been Pilchards, but Threadfin Herring ( greenies ), Mullet, and glass minnows have been found. Offshore, smaller Kingish have been caught in nearshore waters, and Dolphin have been found close as well, between 50 and 75 feet of water. Bottom fishing has been good as well, but with Lobster mini season ongoing, you may want to wait until that is over. Good luck out there!
