Good morning everyone! Snook continue to be the highlight of fishing the IRL, with plenty of larger fish around. Most are falling for live Croakers or Pilchards, though some are falling for artificials such as DOA CAL jigs and Yo-Zuri suspending baits. There are still good numbers of Redfish around as well, taking Gulp Shrimp and other soft plastics, as well as flies, and baby Tarpon are starting to get active with the hot weather. In the surf, Snook are starting to heat up, particularly in Stuart and Jupiter, taking flies such as Clouser Minnows and Polar Fibre Minnows, as well as the Live Target Croaker swimbaits. There are also plenty of Spanish Mackerel and Ladyfish to keep you busy. Snook fishing in the inlets has slowed down a bit, but some are still taking live Croakers ( remember that it’s closed season ). Offshore, Dolphin fishing has been hit or miss, but Kingfish have been cooperative, and Snapper fishing has been very good on live Pilchards and greenies in 60 to 80 feet of water. There have also been good numbers of African Pompano caught as well. With the nice calm conditions we’ve got right now, there’s no excuse to not get out and enjoy it.
