Fishing in the Indian River has been good despite the windy conditions. During the White’s Tackle Fly Slam Tournament Sunday, lots of Snook were caught, from dinks up to slot sized fish, and some very nice Redfish as well. There were also plenty of legal sized Seatrout caught, and some bigger ones lost. Mark Walover and Jim Miller won with 1700 points, Capt. Eric Davis and Charlie Johnson were right behind them with 1500 points, and Mike Simpson and Diogo Lira were third with 800 points, solid work in difficult conditions. Most of the fish have been on shorelines with cleaner conditions. Offshore, there have been Kingfish around the 12A buoy, but rougher conditions have kept most at the dock. The inlets are still producing Snook on the outgoing, both on live bait and flare jigs.
