Good Morning,
Spring is here or at least the fish think it is. There have been a bunch of Mullet and Pilchards in the river. The Sook fishing in the South Fork has been pretty good, working topwater plugs along the mangroves has produced the best. If you’d like to have some fun, run the St. Lucie and look for the big Jacks blowing up in the channel, throw them big poppers or jerkbaits.
The Cobia bite offshore has been phenomenal this week, look for those big Rays and Sharks cruising and you’ll find the Cobia. The Spinner Sharks have been thick everywhere on the beach, Big poppers will get the bite if you’re looking for some great action! Tarpon and Permit have been at the Boils, Live crabs will work best for the Permit, and Hogy’s are the go to for the Poons.
There are still a few Sailfish around, We should start seeing a push of Mahi in a few weeks. The Wahoo bite on the corner has been decent, many boats have reported catching 30-80lbers high speed trolling.
We have a few events coming up this month. March 23rd Capt. Joe Gonzalez will be in our Vero Beach shop giving a seminar on “The Big 3” Joe is a legendary guide in Biscayne Bay, During this seminar he will be sharing all the essential info on Bonefish, Permit, and Tarpon.
