Good morning and Happy Saturday,
The offshore bite has been heating up with dolphin, king mackerel, and cobia to the north around the 80ft bar. Bottom fishing has been good as well with grouper around the 140ft mark out to 180ft. The inshore snapper fishing is only going to get better through the summer spawn on the near shore reef around 40ft.
The inshore fishing is turning on with the mullet and pilchards showing up in the inlet and on the beach. Snook and tarpon along the beach and in the inlet near the schools of bait. Trout fishing is good to the north around the Jensen beach area, using live pilchards and top water plugs at first light. In the Stuart store today we have our very own fly tying guru James Cronk tying flies all day. The weather for the three day weekend looks like its going to be on the windy side with Sunday forecasted to have winds out of the east at 16mph, and Monday out of the east at 19mph with a 60% chance of rain.
Good luck, Jon
