Good Morning!!! Upon returning from my trip to the Dry Tortugas, this past weekend I found out fishing locally here on the Treasure Coast has been outstanding! But first if you have never been or experienced fishing and diving in the Dry Tortugas, which is about 70 miles west of key west, it is definitely something you are going to want to put on your bucket list. Pristine water, coral reefs, and plenty of marine life truly make this place a spectacular place. Fishing the few times i have been has been nothing short of epic with catching countless species from big mutton, flag yellowtail, a variety of grouper, kingfish, amberjacks, and blackfin of the shrimp boats. Pick your window, find a crew, and make the trip to find out what its all about, stop in before you go for a few tips that will help ensure it will be a successful trip. Locally here on the Treasure Coast the inshore bite has been on fire with multiple reports of anglers catching plenty of trout just outside the flats of little mud creek! Good numbers of trout just south of blind creek were caught on DOA paddle tails in the Arkansas glow and avocado glitter color with 1/4 red jig heads. Plenty of bait with Snook and Jacks were reported around Bear Point on the falling tide. Nearshore there has been reports of schools of big jacks along the beach with a few tarpon on the outside of them. Cobia on the sand pile remain decent using live bait. Dolphin has been consistent in the 130 ft mark with a wahoo being reported in the 200 ft. depth. Mutton snapper has been suprisingly good in 30-40 ft at night. High tide today at St. Lucie Inlet was at 11:33 a.m. and high tide is at 5:54 p.m. Till next time good luck and tight lines! JW
