Good morning, Fishing in the area has been productive this week. Tris Colket on the Last Mango had a great trip a few days ago. He reported catching a bunch of "gaffer" dolphin. Ranging in the twenty pound class. Tris has been fishing by trolling ballyhoo rigged with a small skirt on the front side of the bait. It is the most productive method of targeting dolphin in the spring. You can cover the most amount of water while searching for a bite. Four ballyhoo and two teasers is the typical spread. Squid daisy chains and dredges are the preferred teasers.
The inshore waters have received alittle bit of a break this week. Fishing has been productive for a few anglers that endured the little bit of wind we'd had this week. Sea trout and redfish have been the focus for most of the people that fished this week. The hot lure this week was the Slayer Inc paddle tail grub. All the suspecting colors have worked. We have some new topwater plugs coming from Jackall Lures. They are Awesome. i cant wait to get my hands on one. As the water warms up the morning bite is going to change to the topwater bite. Be ready for it.
