Good Morning!!!! Offshore fishing has continued to improve over the last couple of days with a bunch of captains reporting good numbers and sized mahis being caught in the clean water that has pushed in with the rough conditions we experienced last week. I couple of nice wahoo were caught along with plenty of blackfin tuna off push button hill. There has been multiple reports of a consistent sailfish bite which is uncharacteristic for this time of year. Bottom fishing remains hot with mixed bags of grouper, snapper, amberjack, banded rudderfish, black seabass, kingfish, and cobia being caught on the reefs in 90-160 ft of water. Nearshore the spanish mackerel have all but disappeared and have appeared down off the juno pier. Inshore fishing has been heating up with snook being caught along the sea walls near the Benihana and 10 cent bridges. Mark Nichols has been doing well up by club med on tarpon in the 30-40 lb class using doa shrimp in the 309, 324, 383 color patterns. Trout fishing was very good up by blind creek and around little mud creek using vudoo shrimp in the rootbeer and gold colors, as well as the doa cals in the 425 and 409 colors. Next seminar will be held in Stuart on May 6th with Capt. George Gozdz on Tarpon and Permit. Till next time good luck and tight lines!!! JW
