Good morning, both the inshore and offshore fishing continues to improve as our water is staying pretty clean in Ft. Pierce. Reports of redfish and sea trout on the flats have become more and more frequent. Topwater plugs, spoons, and soft plastics have all been working equally well. Most of the action has been to the north of Ft. Pierce where the influence of the St. Lucie river discharge has been less.
I heard a report of dolphin being caught Sunday. Rick and Jeff from the Pelican Yacht Club ventured out and caught 9 dolphin. Average size was 10 pounds. They were fishing a rip in 60 to 70 feet of water. Rick also reported seeing several sailfish free jumping in the same area. Some wahoo were caught over the past weekend. The crew of the Match Point caught a nice #35 pound wahoo that "joined them for dinner".
Enjoy your day, and stop in the shop to check out our new selection of snook jigs for the upcoming snook season. It starts September 1st.
