Good morning, The weather has finally taken a turn for the better. The sun is shining after a few days of well needed rain showers. Now is the time to get out there and fish. The inshore fishing has been exceptional. I talked to Kadri this morning. He told me he caught a keeper snook in the river this morning. He wouldn’t however, release any information on where he was or what he caught it on. Come in or call him tomorrow and ask him about his “keeper” catch. Big sea trout and snook have still been the focus this week. The weather all week was tough but the anglers that braved the weather all did well. From the fellas chartering guides to the folks wading in the river, there have been numbers of big trout caught. Ive heard of sea trout as large as eleven pounds this week.
The offshore fishing has also been good for the brave souls that ventured out during the week. Grouper fishing has been good since the season opened. Ive seen a bunch of nice keeper size groupers, but not many “big” groupers. In addition to the grouper there have also been a plentiful amount of mangrove snapper caught on the inshore and offshore reefs. We just got in a new load of spanish sardines that work great for those snapper, so come grab a box before you head out.
Enjoy the weekend and good luck on the water!
