Good morning, Fishing offshore was more eventful this weekend than it has been in a while. People have been giving reports of dolphin, sailfish, kingfish and snapper all weekend. Most of the dolphin and sailfish action took place further offshore. I was told the water cleaned up in 250 feet on Saturday. Folks starting seeing action in 325 feet. Rick on the Grey Ghost caught a sail in that depth Saturday. He also caught 5 dolphin from 450 to 500 feet. On his way trolling back inshore he hooked a blue marlin in 230 feet. After a 45 minute battle they released the blue marlin. There was no word of his size, but I know they had to have been excited! Congratulations to the crew on the Gray Ghost!
On and inshore note. There have been some finger mullet reported showing up. I cant say the mullet run has started, however we're only a few weeks away from the official start of the fall mullet run. Start now getting your tackle in order. Get your reels re-spooled and make sure your hooks are sharps.
Have a good day! Geoff
