Good morning, the boats that fished the Pelican Yacht Club's sailfish tournament racked up a total of 158 releases yesterday. From the reports coming over the radio it sounds like it is going to be another great day off the Treasure Coast. We are getting a few reports of some scattered kingfish over the reefs and mixed in with them are dolphin, bonito, amberjack and wahoo.
Inshore, surf fishing has been getting better for pompano, bluefish and whiting now that the winds have settled down a bit. Spoons and sand fleas, fresh shrimp, and clam strips will produce the best results. Redfish and trout have been active in the lagoon over the last few weeks and from the reports are scattered all over. Copper colored spoons and soft plastics have been working well. Sheepshead and flounder have been taken on live shrimp off the Ft. Pierce south jetty and around area bridges.
Have a great day, Donald.
