Good morning, 4 boats fished out of Ft. Pierce on the full moon Saturday night looking for swordfish. They had 8 bites but didn’t manage to put one in the boat. They were fishing in 1300 feet off the St. Lucie inlet. Trey Smith from Vero Beach was on his boat and on the way out stopped to drop for a golden tile fish around 30# on squid in 700 feet. Fishing offshore found anglers finding dolphin, sailfish and kingfish scattered over a wide area with little concentration of fish in one place.
Inshore, Scott Crippen fishing with Chris Ivey on their new Skull Island skiff caught a redfish on a fly yesterday. Kadri Benton reported that there are still glass minnows in the surf and the snook are chasing them on area beaches. Chip Shafer caught 8 on a fly, fishing on the beach yesterday. He was using a glass minnow imitation.
Have a great day, Donald.
