Good Morning, As hard as the wind has been blowing there have still been a few anglers that have braved the conditions. One of those anglers was Colton Hester. You might remember Colton from working here at the shop a few summers ago. He has the energetic young guy that was eager to help everyone. Anyway, he fished yesterday north in the river along the spoil islands. He caught a hefty seven pound trout and a beautiful five pound redfish. Colton was very secretive on what he caught them on, but I can’t blame him since he has a big Teen Anglers tournament on Sunday. So, good luck to Colton and all the Teen Angler participants. I hope the weather improves for them by Sunday morning so they can have an enjoyable day on the water.
As for the offshore, rough! That’s been the report for the last few days, however conditions are suppost to improve over the next day or two. Seas should start subsiding after the wind backs off. I can’t be to hopeful though that the fishing will be good. My friends in the Keys are all telling me that the water is still cold for down there, 74-76 degrees. More importantly there are not many dolphin being caught. The fish that aren’t caught in the keys will be swimming north along our coast eventually making it to the Carolinas.
Good Luck and give me a call if you have anything to share for the report.
