Good morning, yesterday’s action centered around some good cobia fishing along our coastline. Schools of cobia are roaming the coastline for some good eats both to the north and to the south of our inlet. Live bait and cobia jigs are good choices to try to capture one of those sometimes curious cobia. Kingfish are on the reefs and are willing participants to do battle with you.
Inshore, word came from the south jetty about some good fishing for black margate and flounder. The bluefish are definitely still around and can be caught on spoons. In the surf anglers are still finding pompano and bluefish. Yesterday John Jackson showed me a picture of a pompano he caught in the surf that tipped the scales at around 6lbs. Trout and redfish are still being reported from back in the lagoon.
Have a fun weekend, Donald.
