Good morning, sea conditions are improving heading in to the week end and anglers will be heading out to see if the mutton snapper are still biting after the big blow. Expect to find kingfish and some sailfish around as well. We will update you to the offshore bite as soon as we hear back from folks headed out today.
Inshore, the big news is that the state has agreed to open the snook season for east coast anglers on September 17th. Regular rules apply, you must have a valid saltwater license and snook license to keep one snook in the slot of 28" to 32". Anglers have been catching and releasing snook from the south jetty and along the south side of the inlet. Trout fishing has been good over the last week, you just needed to find a spot out of the wind. Reports from the surf indicate a few mullet working their way down area beaches. You can expect the fall finger mullet run to improve as we head in to the month of September.
Have a great week end, Kadri.
