Good Morning! Beautiful ocean conditions are quickly coming to a close. The swell from hurricane Danielle is probably going to reach our shores today. up until now there has been some bait and kingfish starting to show up on the near shore reefs, the areas we call the beach. The water has been cold on the beach and this swell will help to push it out and away for the shore. However, the swell will also take the baitfish and kingfish with it. It will also muddy up the water which is no good for the divers that have been diving up nice catches of lobster on the beach.
Further offshore there have been a few dolphin cruising through in 80 to 130 feet of water. There have also been a few sails seen swimming in this same area. Bait seems to be plentiful at both the Bethal Shoal buoy and the 12A buoy off the power plant. They have had nice quality sardines on them. Use a number 4 or 6 sabiki if your having trouble getting them to bit. Sometimes they just want that small quill.
Have a good weekend and good luck fishing!
