Good morning, the fishing reports were pretty good yesterday despite the wind starting to blow again. The Independence fished a charter yesterday out on the beach and had a great day of fishing. Keith and Mike from Maryland caught some great fish! The day started by catching a 40 pound kingfish on the beach. I talk to Capt. Moon, he told me that fish sky-ed eight or ten feet in the air on the strike. That’s pretty cool if you’ve never seen that. The fish was caught on the north beach where the water temperature has risen to 71 degrees. That’s 3 degrees warmer than it is on the south beach near the Boil. The south beach is holding some fish though. They caught some monster spanish! The biggest Moon has ever seen. He said they kept near their limit and caught and released many many more. They also show some tarpon on the beach and was able to jump a large tarpon.
I didn’t hear much from inshore yesterday, except that the fishing is getting a little tougher. The fish are still around, but the wind has moved the fish around alittle and broken up the schools alittle. I thought the water would be dirtier already also, but i drove over north bridge last night and it was pretty clean on the incoming tide. Good Luck and enjoy the weekend!
