Yesterday was the first day of the Pelican Yacht Club Sailfish Tournament. Only two boats fished the first day and the rest took their lay day. Both boats that fished yesterday caught 2 fish a piece. There have been some wahoos around clipping off peoples mono leaders and a few dolphin. For those of you wanting to catch a limit of kingfish there are plenty on the 80-90′ reef and in the 50′ stuff.
Inshore, there has been plenty of action. There are good numbers of trout to our south as well as pompano. The pompano fishing has been much better in the Jensen Beach area than here. There are still a lot of snook in the turning basin and around the bridges. Bluefish and ladyfish are pretty thick as well as small jacks so everyone can fold a rod over.
It looks like nice weather for a few days so get out there!
