Good morning,
I guess a few people made it offshore this weekend. I think those that went Saturday found it to be a little rougher than expected. I heard of a few small dolphin scattered around the 200′ area. There were a couple of sails caught and a few more seen. There were plenty of kingfish in the 60′ areas to the South and an abundance of bait at the 10 buoy and on the beach. There was a lot of life around the boils including greenies, ballyhoos, jacks, kingfish, and a few permit still hanging around. I also received a report that the water had dramatically cleared up down that way, good news!
It seems like the inshore waters have started to clear a bit as well. There has been a lot of bait around and the snook fishing has heated up inshore. There have still been some redfish around although they have been tough to locate in this stained water. It seems like if you don’t set down close to them they are hard to get on. There have been some nice trout around the inlet where the water flow is better and the water is clearer. Several people reported a decent school of tarpon by the North Jetty on outgoing tide.
Have a great day!
Scott
