Good morning,
Fishing was pretty decent offshore this weekend. There were plenty of kingfish reported North of 12A with most boats catching a limit. Dolphin fishing was spotty although a few nice fish were caught. Rusty Varn reported a 32 pound dolphin and we heard of a few more in the 20 pound class. There were several nice cobia caught on the reef and North of 12A. Geoff ventured offshore a piece and caught one sail and pulled one off. Another boat inshore of them got covered up by a ball of sails that would have made you think it was January off of the Fort. I heard of a few nice yellowfins caught this weekend on the other side. Robby Kelly had several around 40 pounds and 4 dolphin over 45 pounds. The fishing should remain strong on the other side for another month or so, just be cautious of the weather in the afternoons.
Inshore fishing has still been pretty good. There haven’t been as many reports lately due to many people fishing off of the beach due to large amounts of bait. There are plenty of snook to be caught and released and still some nice schools of reds. Get out early or stay late because these rising water temperatures will shut the bite down quick. Top water fishing has been great early in the a.m. and jigs and jerk baits are producing decent action from 8:00 on.
It looks like it should be another nice week so go stretch a line!
